NailGurl “Nothing But Love” Nail Art Tutorial
Nail Colors Used: @ofatworld “Spanky” (pink); “Sunshine” (yellow); “Encore” (dark orange); “Rhythm” (Blue); “Reef”(Lt Orange)
Additional Colors / Materials: “Yellow & Baby Pink“water based acrylic paint; white & black nail art lacquer; dark orange colored acrylic powder; cosmetic sponge; and dotting tool.
1.) Paint the entire nail using “Reef”, a two coat application is all that is needed.
2.) This step requires a combo application. Take one full brush stroke and work “Rhythm” to the selected area of the nail plate. Neatness is NOT required for this step. We are working towards an abstract effect. Now taking your cosmetic sponge, apply drops of “Rhythm”, and gently apply and work your shade onto the nail plate, and let FULLY DRY!
3.) Using “Spanky” apply this shade using random strokes across the stress area of the nail plate. Neat application is NOT required. Let your brush go wild! LET FULLY DRY BEFORE GOING TO THE NEXT STEP!
4.) Using your black nail art striper create an outline of graffiti font on to the nail plate. (See example above). Fill the outline in with yellow acrylic paint.
5.) Clean up the yellow acrylic paint fill, by using “Sunshine”. Also be sure to go back over the contrasting outline with the black nail art striper.
6.) Using your pink acrylic paint and dotting tool work the paint around your “LOVE” text giving the appearance of a pink cloud. Be sure to add a few random dots outside of your cloud effect.
7.) Add tiny beads of colored (dark orange preferably /or if available) acrylic at the base of each letter. Your objective is to create a dripping effect. So lightly apply each bead. If acrylic bead runs, let it. LET FULLY DRY!
8.) Add some inner shadowing, by using OFAT’s “Encore” shade by painting each bead of acrylic working upward into the font text. Then go back over your inner shadowing with a thin coat of “Sunshine” to give your text a slight ombre blend.
LET FULLY DRY / GIVE THIS STAGE SOME EXTENDED DRYING TIME
9) Add your favorite topcoat or UV TOPCOAT (cure) and your look is complete!
