How To Have a Pizza Party on Your Nails:

I started with a bright purple base (Maybelline Ultra Violet), then added the shape of the pizza crust in cream and the slice in yellow (OPI My Vampire Wears Buff and Zoya Darcy, respectively).  I used a light brown (Zoya Flynn) to add some shading to both the cheese and the crust, then did the same with a light orange (Zoya Arizona).  With a much darker brown I lightly outline the pizza and crust, and added a few spots here and there.

I used a bright red (Essie Clambake) for the pepperoni, then added a little shading to them with a deeper red (Zoya Sooki). To finish off the pizza, I used some small dabs of cream on both the cheese and crust as highlights.  For the background, I added a shadow along the top and one side of the pizza with a darker purple (Zoya Kieko), and some confetti.  Top coat to smooth everything out, and blam! Pizza Party!

This manicure is totally awesome

Gradient + Tribal nail art!

http://saraysuscuriosidades.blogspot.com.es/2014/07/nail-art-tutorial-gradient-tribal.html

Made another nail art tutorial! This time Gradient + Tribal, a really summer like manicure! Sadly, I only wrote it in Spanish.

Challenge Day 11 - Polka Dots

Made some different designs using dots. They are not perfect but at least it’s an easy going manicure.

Product Review: 3 Size Pearl Rhinestones

notyouraveragenails:

Hello, hello, it’s time for another product review for Born Pretty Store! As always, you can check out their nail art section for the rhinestones I’ll be reviewing as well as other awesome products.

Today I’ve reviewing these pearl rhinestones. I sat around for a while trying to figure out what I wanted to do with them and the idea of recreating Vermeer’s Girl With a Pearl Earring just wouldn’t leave my head so I decided to go for it!

Challenge Day 16 - Tribal Print

Since it’s supposedly to be Summer, I create this pastel gradient nails with white tribal print. Then applied matte top coat to give a nice finish look.

ladycrappo:

Okay, since a few people asked, here’s the tutorial. There are a lot of tutorials for galaxy nails out there, so if this one doesn’t work for you, just google for others!

I started with a base of a lighter blue (most people start with a dark base and sponge on some highlights later, but I was playing around with how this would work). I sponged on a navy blue (Zoya Sailor) randomly, and then sponged on a different navy with a cooler tone (OPI I Saw…U Saw…We Saw…Warsaw), and then added some black. I tried to make each nail different and leave some spaces that weren’t totally opaque. Next, I used an off-white polish (OPI My Vampire Wears Buff) and a brush to add some random cloud-like shapes. I sponged over the white areas with a red jelly (Essie Clambake), then used a brush to add some purple around the edges of the red. With white polish and the tip of my smallest brush, I made tiny dots for stars all over the nails. I then beefed up a couple of the stars with more white polish.

The last step is the hardest, and I didn’t go into detail here because I’ve already made a tutorial on how to do this geometric design, called asa-no-ha (sorry if this veers into How to Draw an Owl territory). If the asa-no-ha is too complicated for you, you could get a similar effect with a much simpler geometric design.

ladycrappo:

By request, a tutorial for my evening sky nails.  I started out with a base of China Glaze Sweet Hook, a really lovely pastel lilac. I created a gradient between the lilac base and a sky blue (Orly Frisky) using a sponge, and then added more gradient using sky blue, bright blue (Essie Strut Your Stuff), and navy blue (Zoya Sailor). I find it easier to do gradients with a lot of colors in two stages like this. I mixed a pale coral color using several polishes and added a little line of the at the very base of the nail.

I started the light clouds with some messy dabs of an off-white polish (OPI My Vampire Wears Buff), then added some dabs of white (OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls) for highlights. I made a purpley gray color by mixing the lilac Sweet Hook with the grey Zoya Dove, and dabbed that around for some low lights. The dark clouds were constructed similarly, using a dusty purple for the base (Zoya Odette), a pink for highlights (Butter London Trout Pout), and a purpley-blue for shadows (Zoya Odette mixed with Zoya Sailor). I was intentionally ‘sloppy’ with the clouds, laying on polish thick in places and very light in other areas, to make it feel organic. Topcoat, and done!

Bought this little cute baby pink polish. I love it! It’s from Astor
